Billionaires want to settle on Mars, but 76% of Gen Z want to save Earth. To get more students at UNSW, we identified the planetary causes that Gen Z wanted to support, then worked with faculty members to understand how different degrees could lead to solutions. At Open Day, we launched Mission for Earth Habitation – an interactive exhibition and film that analyzed Earth’s habitability like it was a foreign planet. Students picked how they wanted to help, and began their application.
